The III International 'Lazgi' Dance Festival was ceremonially opened in the ancient city of Khiva, bringing together hundreds of artists, scholars, and diplomats from dozens of countries around the world.

Saida Mirziyoyeva, head of the Presidential Administration, read out a welcoming message from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the participants and guests. In his message, Mirziyoyev emphasized that 'Lazgi' is a classical musical monument with a three-thousand-year history that celebrates the ideas of goodness, beauty, and friendship.

The President noted that the festival has already become an international cultural brand and a strategic platform occupying an important place in Uzbekistan's cultural diplomacy. Special attention was paid to the global recognition of this art: since 2019, 'Lazgi' has been included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Saida Mirziyoyeva described the dance as 'the soul of our people expressed in movement' and a symbol of a living dialogue of civilizations. The festival program includes not only performances by creative groups but also scientific and practical conferences.

The authorities of Uzbekistan intend to continue using the 'Lazgi' school to educate youth in the spirit of national values and to strengthen international cultural cooperation.
