The government of Uzbekistan is implementing a series of measures to develop the tourism sector. To increase the flow of foreign tourists, the visa regime has been simplified and new infrastructure projects have been launched.

However, according to experts, much work remains to be done to fully utilize the tourism potential. The quality of hotel services, the transport system, and security issues remain relevant. The attitude of the local population towards tourism is generally positive, but some regions lack infrastructure.

Uzbekistan's historical cities – Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva – attract the largest number of tourists. However, the recovery from the pandemic is slow. The government plans to increase the number of tourists to 10 million by 2025, which requires significant investment and reforms.
