A scandal has erupted in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan, where a serving patrol officer (PPS) has been accused of abducting and sexually assaulting 14-year-old girls. The case has sparked widespread public outrage.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs initially confirmed the officer's identity and stated that he had been suspended from duty pending an investigation. However, the regional police department later presented a different version of events.

According to the Tashkent regional police, the abduction claim was not substantiated; the incident is being classified as a domestic conflict, and the minor allegedly entered the vehicle voluntarily in the company of an older friend.

Contradictory statements from the parties involved and the status of the officer have intensified public scrutiny. The intervention of the Children's Ombudsman aims to ensure transparency in the investigation and guarantee the protection of the minor's rights.

A final legal assessment of the officer's actions will be made following a prosecutor's review.
