Law enforcement in Fergana region has thwarted another attempt at drug trafficking. A 36-year-old woman was caught transporting half a kilogram of hashish in her car.

According to the press service of the Fergana Regional Department of Internal Affairs, the arrest took place on April 25 during a joint special operation in the Buvaydin district. During a search of the local resident's vehicle, operatives discovered and seized 514 grams of hashish.

A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under Article 273 (Illegal production, storage, transportation or sale of narcotic drugs). An investigation is underway.

Law enforcement officials remind that drugs pose a serious threat to human health and life, and urge citizens to remain vigilant and assist in the fight against illicit drug trafficking.

Earlier, an elderly resident of Fergana region had hidden drugs in her yard, burying a kilogram of hashish on her property.
