In the early hours of February 26, 2026, at approximately 01:30, a Lacetti car was filmed speeding along Ibn Sino Street in Samarkand, as shown in footage provided to Kun.uz.

Minutes later, at the intersection of Bustonsoy and Ulug Tursunov streets, the Lacetti collided with a Nexia-3 that was making a turn. The Nexia-3 carried two patrol and post service officers.

One of them, Doston Kuziev (born 1998), was hospitalized with severe injuries and later died. He was reportedly on duty at the time of the accident.

According to sources, the Lacetti contained four young individuals, and the driver allegedly did not possess a driver's license.

The regional traffic safety department press service stated that the Nexia-3 driver failed to yield while turning left, causing the collision. The Lacetti caught fire, which was extinguished by emergency services.

This incident follows a similar tragedy on February 25 in Tashkent's Mirabad district, where a minor, Doniyor Turgunov, driving a BMW, struck and killed traffic police inspector Khosilbek Eshnazarov.
