The press service of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Health has denied reports that the 'Electronic Prescription' system is being cancelled. The rumors were sparked by a draft order published on the portal for discussing regulatory legal acts, which proposed invalidating the procedure for the phased implementation of the system.
The ministry stated that the draft order was misinterpreted on social media. In fact, the new draft aims to fully transition all prescription drugs to the 'Electronic Prescription' system in Tashkent and 15 districts (cities) where a pilot project is underway.
According to Ministry Order No. 25 of December 15, 2025, the first phase required electronic prescriptions for systemic antibiotics, synthetic antibacterial drugs, and hormonal medications. The new draft consolidates these phases and expands the system's coverage.
Exceptions include certain categories of potent substances, drugs containing narcotic and psychotropic substances, as well as processes related to the reimbursement program. The ministry urged citizens to rely only on official sources for information.
