A horrific crime unfolded in the city of Shirin, Syrdarya region, on April 29, when a 35-year-old woman allegedly stabbed to death the legal wife of her lover and two of her young daughters. A third child, aged three, was hospitalized in critical condition.
According to Khayot Shamsutdinov, spokesman for the Prosecutor General's Office, the incident occurred around 5:00 PM. The suspect and her lover, with whom she had a religious marriage, reportedly argued over jealousy.
After the quarrel, the woman allegedly took a kitchen knife from her mother's home and went to the victim's residence. There, she inflicted multiple stab wounds on her rival and two children. Two victims died at the scene from injuries incompatible with life. The three-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
The suspect fled the scene but was later apprehended. A criminal case has been opened on charges of premeditated murder. Investigative actions are ongoing.
This incident follows a similar case in Yukorichirchik district, Tashkent region, where a 47-year-old man stabbed his wife over 10 times after she confessed to having a lover. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
