In the city of Ohangaron, Tashkent region, an 18-year-old man has been subjected to administrative punishment for spreading false information on social media, accusing a patrol service officer of pedophilia. The regional Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) reported the incident.
In his video, the young man alleged that the officer had sexually assaulted a minor girl. When summoned by the DIA to clarify the situation, he refused to comply with lawful demands and caused a disturbance.
During the investigation, the young man admitted that the information he spread was false. He stated: “There was another girl in the car with the officer. The girl in the video is not my relative. I apologize. On the night of April 27-28, I posted a video online showing the officer sitting with a girl and called him a pedophile. I spread false information; it was all slander. I apologize to him.”
By a decision of the Ohangaron City Criminal Court, the young man and his two accomplices were found guilty under Articles 183 (petty hooliganism) and 194 (disobedience to lawful demands of internal affairs officers) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility and sentenced to 7 days of administrative arrest.
The DIA added that investigative actions are ongoing regarding the intentional discrediting of an internal affairs officer, dissemination of false information, and damage to a vehicle by a group.
Earlier, the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched a probe after reports surfaced on social media about alleged illegal actions by a patrol officer towards a minor. Subsequently, the DIA stated that the reports were not confirmed. A witness to the incident said: “He is not a pedophile. If he had harassed her, I would have recorded it myself.” According to the witness, the young man in the video is not the girl's brother but her boyfriend, who constantly monitors her. The situation was also taken under control by the children's ombudsman.
