In the Tashkent district, environmental police officers during a raid in the 'Kirarik' mahalla discovered another case of illegal waste dumping. A local resident had disposed of construction waste in an unauthorized location.
A background check revealed that the man had already been held accountable for a similar offense in February of this year in the Kibray district. Despite being fined over 4 million soums, he failed to draw the necessary conclusions.
Since the violation was repeated within a year, law enforcement applied stricter measures. An administrative protocol was drawn up under Part 4 of Article 91-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. The case materials have been sent to court, and the confiscation of the MAN truck used as a tool for the offense is also being considered.
It is worth recalling that Uzbekistan is embarking on a large-scale technological transformation of its waste management system. The ultimate goal is to halve the number of landfills in the country by 2030. Instead of expanding traditional dumps, the state is shifting focus to deep processing and the construction of modern waste-to-energy plants, which will turn household waste into a valuable energy resource and significantly reduce the burden on the ecosystem.
