The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan has facilitated the return of a female citizen who had been living in the country without legal status for many years.
According to the diplomatic mission, in February of this year, the woman approached the embassy requesting assistance to return home. An investigation revealed that she had been residing in Pakistan without a visa since 2005 and was in a difficult social situation.
She stated that she arrived in Pakistan in 2005 to marry a local citizen. That same year, her husband was involved in a traffic accident and became disabled. Since then, she had been caring for him. While his condition has partially improved, he remains disabled, and the family's social and financial situation continues to be dire.
The embassy noted that the woman had limited financial means, only able to cover daily expenses.
Diplomats confirmed her identity and citizenship, prepared the necessary documents, and assisted in her repatriation. With the embassy's support, an air ticket was purchased.
On May 2, the woman returned to Uzbekistan on a flight from Islamabad to Tashkent.
