The Tashkent Metro has responded to reports circulating on social media about smoke coming from a power bank in a train car. According to the enterprise, the smoke originated from a passenger's mobile device due to a technical malfunction.
The incident occurred on June 7 at approximately 9:15 AM in one of the cars of train No. 85, traveling from the "Rohat" station to the "Olmos" station.
Preliminary information indicates that the passenger's mobile device began to smoke due to a technical fault. It was then thrown onto the floor of the car.
Metro staff immediately took control of the situation and removed the item from the train at the next station, the statement said.
The administration emphasized that the incident did not affect the safety of train operations and did not pose a serious threat to passengers. Trains continued to run on schedule.
In light of this event, passengers are urged to follow safety rules when using power banks and other electronic devices with lithium-ion batteries, and to refrain from using devices showing signs of malfunction.
