The 'Khayot' animal shelter in Tashkent has celebrated eight years of operation and summarized its achievements.
According to the shelter, over 7,000 dogs have been rescued, and more than 15,000 animals have found new homes. The shelter also houses rescued donkeys, some of which have already been adopted.
The shelter team participates in city events, festivals, exhibitions, and television shoots. A key initiative is the 'Lessons of Kindness' educational program, with over 120 lessons conducted, reaching more than 30,000 children on humane animal treatment.
Several projects are associated with the shelter, including Aral Vet Mission, Laykis Vet, and Mushukkent. One of the team's main goals now is to build a new modern center for rescuing and rehabilitating stray animals.
The shelter expressed gratitude to volunteers, caretakers, doctors, donors, sponsors, schools, universities, companies, creative community members, and all those who help animals and support the center's work.
Earlier, it was reported that the Ministry of Justice refused to register a large-scale project by the animal protection organization Mehr va Oqibat for chipping and sterilizing animals.
