Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has pledged to resolve an accident at the "25 Years of Independence" gas field, which occurred in September last year in the Boysun district of Surkhandarya region. According to him, a scientific solution to the complex technological problem has been found in collaboration with partners.

"We will stop the accident and also launch a project that will give a strong impetus to the economy of Surkhandarya," said the president.

In September last year, a hydrogen sulfide leak occurred at the field, followed by another technogenic accident that resulted in two fatalities. Later, residents reported a strong gas smell and possible leakage. The country's energy ministry explained that a pre-lit flare of the gushing natural gas flow at the well had extinguished, but the flame was restored.
