Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. The high-profile case of Uzbelas Performance auto service head Asadbek Jumayev, who publicly boasted about receiving a "lenient punishment" for racing with traffic police, has taken an unexpected turn. It was revealed that the same judge who allowed the offender to avoid arrest had previously issued a controversial verdict in the Li L9 electric car accident case, which was deemed unfounded and overturned in mid-February.

This information was confirmed to Podrobno.uz by the press service of Tashkent City Courts.

Recall that the judge's identity drew expert attention in early February. At that time, the case involving a collision between Li L9 and BYD electric cars on Mustaqillik Avenue sparked controversy. The judge ordered the BYD driver to pay 798 million soums, based on the claim that the Li L9 was traveling at 60 km/h. However, experts and witnesses noted that the electric car was torn to pieces upon impact, characteristic of speeds exceeding 150 km/h. On February 13, the first-instance court decision was fully overturned, and case materials were sent for additional investigation.

It has now been revealed that in January, the same judge reviewed materials regarding Jumayev. Despite two BMW drivers with activated special signals intentionally ignoring traffic police demands and fleeing, the judge showed unexpected leniency. Instead of arrest for dangerous driving and direct disobedience, Jumayev was found guilty only of disseminating videos discrediting law enforcement officers and sentenced to a minimal fine—20 BRV (8.4 million soums).

This judicial decision became the basis for the entrepreneur's subsequent bravado. In an interview, Jumayev openly expressed joy, stating that while others receive 5-day arrests for similar offenses, he got off with only a minor penalty.

Later, the prosecutor's office appealed the court decision regarding the auto service owner, noting that the "street racer's" actions require a more objective legal assessment.

A new case has been initiated against Jumayev under Article 202-2 of the Administrative Responsibility Code ("Dissemination of false information"). The trial for this case is currently ongoing in the City Court.
