Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. According to data from the National Committee on Statistics, as of January 1, 2026, the number of women in Uzbekistan stood at 18.9 million people, representing 49.6% of the country's permanent population. This figure highlights the significant demographic presence of women and their role in societal structures.

The highest number of women resides in Samarkand Region, with over 2.17 million individuals. This is followed by Fergana Region (2.09 million), Kashkadarya Region (1.83 million), and Andijan Region (1.73 million). In Tashkent City, there are 1.61 million women, while Tashkent Region has 1.57 million.

Other regions show the following women's populations: Namangan Region – 1.56 million, Surkhandarya Region – 1.48 million, Bukhara Region – 1.05 million, and Khorezm Region – 1.03 million. In the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 1.02 million women live.

Among the regions with the smallest women's populations are Syrdarya Region (471 thousand people), Navoiy Region (548.7 thousand), and Jizzakh Region (776 thousand). It is noted that the lower numbers are linked to the overall smaller population sizes in these areas.

To recall, by the beginning of 2026, the permanent population of the republic reached 38.2 million people, increasing by nearly 700 thousand citizens over the year. This growth reflects ongoing demographic trends and development processes within the country.
