Shuxratjon Oripov Orip ogli has been appointed as the acting chairman of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan during a meeting of the union's board. This decision was announced by the Uzbekistan News Agency (UzA). Oripov currently serves as the press secretary of the Business Development Bank and will undertake this new role without leaving his primary position.

Shuxratjon Oripov began his career as a journalist in 1999, working for several newspapers. He later held positions in state and public organizations, including the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, and within the UzLiDep system, where he was involved in information policy and press service activities.

Prior to this appointment, Xolmurod Salimov had been serving as the acting chairman of the union. Oripov's new role may bring changes and new directions to the union's operations, though such transitions often come with inherent challenges and potential disruptions in organizational continuity.
