According to data from the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, the total sales volume of all types of motor vehicles in Uzbekistan reached 84.2 thousand units by the end of February, marking a 6.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This indicates continued growth in the automotive market's activity.
Car sales in February rose by 2% compared to January, with an increase of approximately 1.6 thousand units. The most significant growth was observed in the Samarkand region, where sales volume surged by 65%. Activity also increased in the Syrdarya region by 7.2% and in the Tashkent region by 12%.
In February 2026, sales of new locally produced cars amounted to about 24 thousand units, matching the level of January this year. Compared to the same period last year, sales volume grew by 10.7%. Growth was also recorded in the segment of new cars manufactured abroad, with sales volume increasing 1.5 times compared to February last year, reaching approximately 3 thousand units.
The light electric vehicle segment continues to show steady growth. In February, sales volume stood at 6.9 thousand units, which is 14% higher than the previous month. On an annual basis, electric car sales have increased 1.5 times. The majority of electric car sales are concentrated in Tashkent city, where about 4.5 thousand electric vehicles were sold in February, accounting for nearly 65% of the total sales volume in this segment.
