A large-scale project to modernize transport infrastructure and introduce high-tech waiting pavilions has commenced in the capital of Uzbekistan. According to city administration data, the installation of 'Smart Stops' will soon begin on the streets of Tashkent, aimed at making public transport journeys safer and more comfortable for residents.

The new stops will become part of the city's unified digital ecosystem and will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Each pavilion will feature two video cameras integrated into a centralized surveillance system, as well as a special 'SOS' button for rapid communication with emergency services.

The project also includes the organization of specialized waiting zones for mobility-impaired citizens and persons with disabilities. For passenger convenience, electronic displays showing real-time bus schedules and vending machines for purchasing drinks and snacks will be installed in the pavilions.

While this initiative is intended to enhance Tashkent's transport system, its implementation demands significant time and resources, potentially straining the city's budget and logistics. Residents have raised concerns about the effectiveness of the new stops and their impact on daily life, highlighting possible challenges in execution.
