In the Mirzaabad district of Sirdaryo region, two state bailiffs from the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement (BCE) were detained by the State Security Service. They are accused of taking bribes during the enforcement of a court decision in a civil case.

According to reports, the Gulistan Interdistrict Court in December 2021 ruled to recover 30 million soums in material and moral damages from a debtor in favor of a claimant. This enforcement case was under the jurisdiction of one of the BCE state bailiffs.

Investigation materials indicate that the bailiffs, "aiming for personal enrichment," received 20 million soums from the debtor in exchange for closing the enforcement case. They then misled the claimant about the "severity of the debtor's situation," handing over only 14 million soums of that amount.

Additionally, they forced the claimant to sign a receipt stating that they had allegedly received the full 30 million soums and had no claims. The employees were caught with material evidence while dividing the remaining 6 million soums, 3 million each, in front of the district prosecutor's office building.

In connection with the incident, the Sirdaryo Regional Prosecutor's Office has initiated a criminal case against these BCE state bailiffs, applying detention as a preventive measure. Investigative actions are currently underway, marking a significant event in anti-corruption efforts in the region.
