Uzbekistan is planning to implement an incentive system for citizens and business representatives participating in the national 'Green Space' project. This was announced on March 23 during a presentation of ecological initiatives to the president. According to Javohir Musayev, head of a department at the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change, special statuses are envisaged for project participants based on their contribution to greening efforts.

Musayev emphasized that, for example, citizens who plant 100 trees or donate 10 million soums to a 'green' charity fund will be granted the status of 'eco-active citizen'. Entrepreneurs who plant 1,000 trees or transfer an equivalent amount to the fund will receive the 'eco-partner' status. Additionally, citizens who donate 5 billion soums from their own funds or plant around 5,000 seedlings and actively participate in establishing gardens will be awarded the 'patron' status.

The committee representative added that a state award is also planned for the most active participants: 'In the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions, and Tashkent city, it is planned to award the state prize 'Builder of the Future' to citizens who have actively participated in establishing at least five green gardens using their own funds'.

The presentation also showcased measures aimed at reducing air pollution. According to Zikrilla Alimov, laboratory head at the research institute under Green University, the installation of filters and dust-gas cleaning devices at factories and production enterprises is planned. Furthermore, the issue of introducing certain restrictions (including a moratorium) on the establishment of new industrial zones in Tashkent city is under consideration.
