The Competition Development Committee of Uzbekistan conducted an inspection of e-commerce market participants following complaints about the quality of services provided. As a result, violations were identified in 45 cases within public offers, which were subsequently brought into compliance with legal requirements.
Analysis of websites and online sales conditions revealed that the offer of the Uzum Tezkor service contained 26 violations, while the BeeMarket platform (Unitel LLC) had 18. Meanwhile, Orzon.uz and BROSTORE lacked public offers entirely, and Seide International company did not present them in the state language.
The inspection also uncovered a range of systemic issues: refusal to exchange or refund money for substandard goods, provision of incomplete or inaccurate information to consumers, violation of delivery deadlines, and non-compliance with language requirements for contracts.
Following the inspection, the Committee issued directives and requests to the companies, obliging them to rectify the violations. To date, the public offers have been aligned with legislation.
The authority also reminded consumers to exercise caution during online purchases: verify product information, choose reliable platforms, study reviews, clarify delivery and return conditions, and use secure payment methods.
