Uzbekistan has initiated comprehensive measures to environmentally upgrade its transport system under a presidential decree. As part of this program, starting from August 1 of this year, individuals and legal entities who surrender old vehicles will receive compensation for part of the interest rate on auto loans when purchasing new transport. This "trade-in" program aims to incentivize the population to switch to environmentally friendly vehicles and phase out old, polluting transport means.

According to the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, from May 1 of this year, "Car-Free Day, Week" campaigns will be held twice a month – on the 10th and 25th. During these campaigns, state employees will be prohibited from using official vehicles, which is designed to reduce air pollution and increase focus on public transport.

All oil refineries in the republic will be modernized by November 1 of this year to produce motor fuel meeting the "Euro-4" environmental standard by November 1, 2028, and the "Euro-5" standard from March 1, 2030. This measure is intended to significantly cut harmful emissions from vehicles.

By the end of 2026, the territory of Tashkent city will be divided into "red," "yellow," and "green" zones under the "ecological transport" system. Additionally, by the end of the year, all motor vehicles in the capital will be issued environmental stickers confirming their ecological category. This system will help protect the urban environment and manage traffic flows effectively.
