Uzbekistan is bracing for heavy rainfall in the coming days, which could trigger mudflows and flooding in several regions. According to Uzhydromet, adverse weather conditions are forecast for March 31 and from April 2 to 6, posing significant risks to mountainous and foothill areas.
The precipitation increases the likelihood of mudflow activity in the republic's foothill and mountain zones. Specifically, mudflow and flood phenomena are possible in districts of Kashkadarya Region, including Yakkabag, Dehkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shahrisabz, Kamashi, and Guzar, as well as other areas.
In Surkhandarya Region, similar risks are predicted in Sariosiyo, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Shurchi, Qumqo‘rg‘on, and Muzrabot districts, among others. Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, and Tashkent regions are also expected to experience unfavorable conditions, including in the cities of Angren and Almalyk.
Additionally, mudflow phenomena are possible in the mountainous and foothill areas of Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan regions, along with other districts. Meteorologists note that accumulation of rainwater in some parts of the republic could lead to localized flooding of territories.
Residents, tourists, and drivers heading to mountain and foothill areas are urged to take precautionary measures and consider weather conditions when planning trips. These warnings aim to mitigate risks and ensure safety amid potential natural hazards, highlighting the need for vigilance during this period of heightened meteorological activity.
