Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov presented the country's achievements in digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) at the international Digital Qazaqstan 2026 forum in Chimkent. He emphasized that optimizing state governance and consolidating data has not only saved significant funds but also enabled the start of building a powerful computing base for AI development.
Aripov noted that the consolidation of e-government systems in a unified data center has allowed for savings of 30% of the budget's network costs. This logically led to enhancing capacities: currently, the launch of a large computing cluster is being finalized, which forms a national AI infrastructure capable of transitioning projects from pilot stages to industrial scale.
The Prime Minister highlighted that Uzbekistan is actively implementing "smart" solutions in the real sector of the economy. A flagship project in this regard is the new factory of one of the region's largest mining and metallurgical plants, OKMK, where a digital circuit has been created integrating over 60 systems and 20,000 sensors, enabling intelligent real-time analysis of the entire production chain.
Aripov also stated that the country has an active portfolio of 100 priority AI projects, with the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence Alliance and the opening of 19 scientific-educational laboratories for systematic development. Additionally, he previously announced plans to launch satellite internet in a test mode by 2026, with a package of tax incentives formed for operators.
