The administration of the Tashkent Botanical Garden has announced a ban on bicycles and scooters within its grounds, effective from April 1. This decision is aimed at enhancing visitor safety and maintaining a tranquil, peaceful atmosphere in the garden.

In recent months, there has been an increase in incidents of falls and injuries related to two-wheeled vehicles, prompting the administration to act on numerous guest complaints and suggestions. Approved by the academic council, the new rule designates the garden exclusively for pedestrian use.

Organizers emphasize that the goal is to foster an environment of quiet and security, where visitors can enjoy nature without the risk of collisions or excessive noise. Guests are requested to adhere to the new regulations and be mindful of their own safety and the tranquility of others.

This development comes amid recent simplifications in Uzbekistan for obtaining driver's licenses for moped and scooter owners, a move that could potentially lead to a rise in two-wheeled transport usage.
