Uzbekistan has recorded another case of copyright infringement, this time involving the creative legacy of the late folk artist Sherali Juraev. According to the Ministry of Justice, performer Sardor Mamadaliev was held accountable for illegally performing several well-known compositions without the permission of the rights holder.

The ministry received a complaint from Juraev's heir, who pointed out that Mamadaliev performed the songs "Ko‘rmisham", "Bandaman", and "Karvon" without authorization. Following an investigation, an administrative protocol was drawn up against the artist, and the case materials were forwarded to the court for legal proceedings.

The Chust District Court in Namangan Region found Mamadaliev guilty of copyright infringement. He was fined 20 base calculation units, equivalent to 8.2 million Uzbek soums. This penalty underscores the enforcement of intellectual property laws in Uzbekistan and serves as a warning to other performers.

The Ministry of Justice reminded citizens that they can report copyright violations through the hotline at 1008 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. The ministry also urged artists and creators to pay closer attention to copyright compliance and to use works only with proper authorization from rights holders.

Previously, Mamadaliev had been fined for a similar infringement when he used the poem "Sevilmagan yor kerak mena" by Fergana poet Ilhomjon Komilov without permission, highlighting ongoing challenges in copyright adherence within the country's creative industry.
