Following the results of the first season of the 'Initiative Budget' for 2026, additional funding has been allocated for 47 projects that initially did not win. According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, 18.2 billion soums were allocated from the additional funds of local budgets by decision of district (city) councils of people's deputies. Using these funds, previously non-winning projects have been additionally declared winners and will be financed.

Under the current procedure, district (city) councils of people's deputies are authorized to announce additional winning projects using the supplementary funds of local budgets. The list of additionally declared winning projects can be accessed through the openbudget.uz portal.

On March 21, the winning projects of the first season of the 'Initiative Budget' for 2026 were announced. Citizen initiatives garnered over 10.2 million votes. More than 3 trillion soums will be allocated to 1,996 projects for the repair of schools, roads, and other facilities.

In 2026, it is planned to allocate 6 trillion soums to this program. Of this, 496 billion soums are directed towards implementing deputy initiative practices, and 506 billion soums are for carrying out cooperation projects in the form of 'joint financing' between the population and the state.

By presidential decree, starting from 2026, a practice is being introduced to declare two non-winning projects (one per season) as winners based on deputy initiatives. To finance non-winning projects, each deputy is allocated approximately 3.3 billion soums.

Through the same document, from February 1, a practice of financing some projects on a partnership basis between the population and the state has been implemented in the 'Initiative Budget'. In this case, if the population voluntarily finances 50% of the project cost, the projects are declared winners, and the remaining 50% is financed from the republican budget.
