In Uzbekistan, the process for changing a family doctor or clinic has been simplified for citizens. This is particularly relevant for those who have relocated or are dissatisfied with their current medical care. According to new regulations, citizens can transfer their registration to a more convenient healthcare facility through the my.gov.uz portal, the Dmed application, or by visiting a clinic in person. These changes aim to enhance the accessibility of the healthcare system.

For newborns, the registration process is automated. If the mother is already registered at a clinic, the child is attached to the same institution. Otherwise, a clinic is selected based on the mother's registered address. Parents can later change the child's clinic if desired. This process is carried out without parental involvement due to pre-collection of data by maternity hospitals.

Key considerations must be taken into account when changing clinics. Citizens should verify whether the new clinic services their address of permanent or temporary registration. If the clinic does not cover that address, the patient may lose the ability to call a therapist or receive home visits from medical staff. This is especially important in cases of chronic illnesses or pregnancy.

To make the change, citizens need to provide documents such as a passport, tax identification number, and registration certificate. On the my.gov.uz portal, the service "Registration of Individuals in Family Clinics" can be used to select a new clinic and doctor. In the Dmed app, the process starts with the "Change" button and searching for a new facility through filters. After the change, the previous contract is automatically terminated.

This news is part of reforms in Uzbekistan focused on digitalization and improving convenience for citizens. However, in practice, some citizens may encounter technical issues or limitations from clinics, which could complicate the process. At the same time, these changes help increase the efficiency of medical services.
