The Ezgu Amal public charity fund and Supersport sports school have launched a new initiative called the ‘Eight Hearts’ project. The primary goal of this endeavor is to raise funds for the purchase of a specialized pediatric ultrasound machine, valued at $120,000, for the Scientific-Practical Medical Center of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology, and Immunology in Tashkent.

According to the fund, this equipment is designed for pediatric diagnostics, enabling ultrasound examinations that account for children’s age-specific characteristics while ensuring high accuracy and quality. This will significantly enhance diagnostic capabilities in the field of pediatric oncology.

The project is supported by eight amateur athletes from Uzbekistan. In early April, they traveled to the Sahara Desert in Africa to participate in one of the world’s most challenging ultramarathons—the Marathon des Sables (MDS). This year, the marathon is celebrating its 40th anniversary, having been held since 1986.

The marathon program spans 11 days in Morocco, including 9 days in the desert. The approximately 250 km route consists of six stages that participants must cover by running or walking under extreme heat conditions, constantly testing their endurance. Organizers of the ‘Eight Hearts’ project hope that this initiative will draw attention to the charity cause and help spread the word to as many people as possible.
