Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. In January-February 2026, nearly 12,000 foreign citizens arrived in the country to seek medical assistance. These figures highlight the growth of medical tourism in the region and increasing demand for healthcare services in Uzbekistan.

According to data from the National Statistics Committee, 11.8 thousand medical tourists visited Uzbekistan during this period. The numbers indicate the rising popularity of Uzbekistan's healthcare system and high-quality medical services among foreign patients.

The main flow of patients traditionally comes from neighboring countries. Tajikistan led the way with over 7.5 thousand arrivals. Kyrgyzstan followed with more than 2.5 thousand patients, then Kazakhstan (over 1.2 thousand), Afghanistan (338), and Russia (208). Only 26 people arrived from other countries.

It is worth recalling that in January-October 2025, 75.6 thousand foreign citizens came to Uzbekistan for medical purposes. This new data confirms a steady upward trend in medical tourism, which could positively impact the country's economy.
