Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. As part of the reform of the tax system in Uzbekistan, a full digital transformation of the activities of markets and trade complexes is planned. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has reviewed plans to bring order to this sector.
Statistics show that the potential of markets is not being fully utilized today due to a lack of systematic control. Out of 72,000 retail trade entities, more than half declare symbolic revenue—less than one million soums per month, and over 40,000 entrepreneurs issue only 2–3 receipts per day. Additionally, a serious problem remains the lack of official registration of lease agreements in more than 12,000 trading points.
The solution to the problem will be the implementation of digital surveillance mechanisms and deep integration of market operations with tax authority systems in real-time. This will not only activate additional sources of revenue but also create a transparent environment for all trade participants, eliminating opportunities for hidden cash turnover.
It was previously reported that by 2030, the share of the shadow economy is planned to be reduced by almost one and a half times, and budget revenues are to be increased to 491.5 trillion soums. The focus is on “smart” control using artificial intelligence and the digitalization of markets.
