Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to the Podrobno.uz news agency, construction has been completed on a new electrified railway section, the Baitkurgan-Parkent line, in the Tashkent region. This project is set to become a key part of the regional transport system, enhancing accessibility to remote areas.
The construction began in January 2025 and involved building a single-track railway line. Work proceeded at an accelerated pace, aimed at developing regional transport infrastructure. The new section provides the Parkent district with additional opportunities for economic growth and tourism development.
With convenient railway connectivity, the district is expected to attract more visitors and evolve into a major tourist destination. This, in turn, is anticipated to open new avenues for small businesses and tourism infrastructure. While the project is projected to have a positive impact on the regional economy, questions linger regarding its long-term efficiency and financial costs.
