In Uzbekistan, Mastercard cards are commonly used for international travel, online payments, and accessing foreign services. However, not all banks issue these cards, and the terms and costs vary significantly. Research indicates that state-owned, private, and digital banks offer Mastercard cards, with debit cards predominating in their lineups, while issuance conditions, tariffs, and available classes differ based on each bank's policies.

Mastercard cards are issued in various classes, including Standard, Gold, World, World Black Edition, and World Elite. These classes do not affect the ability to pay abroad or online but influence limits, service conditions, and access to additional benefits. Issuing banks may connect discounts, cashback, travel services, and special offers depending on the specific tariff plan.

To open a Mastercard card, only a passport or ID card is required, with the bank conducting client identification. The card can be obtained online, for instance, through the mobile application of OFB Bank, a process that takes a few minutes and involves four steps: selecting the card, filling in data, confirming terms, and receiving the card.

The issuance time varies by bank, typically ranging from a few days to several weeks. Costs also differ: for example, issuing a Mastercard Standard may cost from 0 to 150,000 soums, Mastercard Gold from 50,000 to 300,000 soums, World Mastercard from 100,000 to 500,000 soums, World Mastercard Black Edition from 200,000 to 1,000,000 soums, and World Elite Mastercard from 300,000 to 1,500,000 soums. These prices do not include potential insurance deposits, subscription fees, or service commissions.
