Uzbekistan has officially established the procedure for conducting payments through a unified QR code. The new system will allow customers to pay for goods and services using any banking or payment application, regardless of which app the client prefers.

The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan registered a departmental document regulating the use of the unified QR code for payments. According to the new procedure, a system for accepting payments via a unified QR code will be gradually implemented for all legal entities in the trade and services sector. This means that buyers will be able to pay for purchases through any mobile application of a bank or payment organization, independent of the specific app used by the customer.

The unified QR code serves as a universal tool that ensures compatibility among all payment services. The system includes the division of QR codes into static and dynamic types, integration of all payment systems into a single infrastructure, automatic processing and real-time transmission of payment data, as well as the ability to track the status of operations and user inquiries.

Users will be able to scan the QR code, confirm the payment amount, receive electronic receipts, and view transaction history. It is recalled that starting from January 1, 2026, individual entrepreneurs and self-employed persons in Uzbekistan will be required to use a special QR code for accepting electronic payments. Significant fines are stipulated for its absence or improper use.
