At a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was announced that participants and disabled veterans of the Second World War in Uzbekistan will receive a one-time monetary reward of 30 million soum on the occasion of May 9 – the Day of Memory and Honor. This decision is presented as a practical embodiment of the policy of caring for war veterans and perpetuating their memory.

The meeting also discussed measures for social support of military personnel, improvement of the reserve and stock officer training system, and preparations for May 9. The President was briefed on work being carried out to enhance combat readiness and military training of the army, as well as the introduction of a new education and professional training system for personnel.

Particular emphasis is placed on regularly conducting comprehensive strategic and command-staff exercises, assemblies, field trips, and training courses in the troops. Developing critical combat qualities in personnel, such as moral-psychological resilience, the ability to manage fear and emotions in real combat situations, and the capacity to act decisively, is highlighted as a key focus.

Taking into account the analysis of modern combat operations, new methods and forms of warfare are being mastered in all exercises, drills, and training sessions, with corresponding measures taken to increase the mobility of units, their combat capabilities, and ability to independently accomplish assigned tasks.

On the Day of Memory and Honor, plans include showing special attention not only to war participants but also to labor front veterans, the older generation, and mentors, improving the housing of lonely and low-income veterans, and holding various memorial and ceremonial events. The memory of loyal sons of the homeland who died in the line of duty during the years of independence will also be immortalized, with material and moral support provided to their families.
