The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has allocated a $14 million grant for a project aimed at developing the information technology education ecosystem in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Digital Technologies reported.

Under the project “Enhancing Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Potential by Improving the IT Education Ecosystem in Uzbekistan,” young people will receive systematic training over four years in modern fields such as artificial intelligence, prompt engineering, programming, the Internet of Things, and online marketing.

Additionally, 500 IT specialists and teachers are planned to undergo advanced training. The project will also launch startup incubation programs with the participation of leading Korean experts.

The project will be implemented from 2026 to 2032. Two modern IT hubs will be established in the cities of Nukus and Qarshi. Furthermore, 14 IT centers will be built in seven districts, equipped with necessary hardware.

According to the ministry, this initiative aims to develop the education system, increase youth employment, and support innovative entrepreneurship.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan would purchase 100 ambulances based on a $7 million grant from a South Korean company. The vehicles are expected to be acquired in the first half of 2026.
