From April 20 to 24, Huawei’s office in Tashkent hosted the annual Digital Week 2026 event, dedicated to the latest innovations in telecommunications, digitalization of the public sector, industries, and social spheres. The event was held under the theme “Advancing All Intelligence.”
Over 400 participants, including executives and specialists from telecom operators, internet providers, digital transformation units of government agencies, and media representatives, attended the company’s showroom and participated in additional tech sessions. They explored the latest developments first presented at the Mobile World Congress (MWC2026) in Barcelona, Spain, in March 2026.
For the telecom sector, speakers focused on deploying AI-centric network architecture, computing power, low-latency optical backbones, and optimal user experience. The AI-Centric Network solutions embed artificial intelligence at all levels: services, network, and network elements, helping operators improve efficiency, network quality, and discover new revenue streams.
For the public sector and corporate segment, the emphasis was on cross-industry collaboration to accelerate intelligent transformation. Global practices were showcased for education, healthcare, transportation, and banking sectors.
Journalists and IT specialists from local TV channels were introduced to technological solutions for digital transformation of the media sphere, including data storage systems, network solutions, and security systems. A separate session for media representatives highlighted Huawei’s global and Uzbekistan results for 2025. It was noted that R&D investments in 2025 accounted for 21.8% of annual revenue.
Special attention was given to Huawei’s contribution to developing the local partner ecosystem, implementing educational initiatives for young talents and professionals, and supporting the promotion of Digital Uzbekistan’s achievements in the Middle East and Central Asia. Starting in 2026, Uzbekistan was selected as Huawei’s Central Asian office, which will manage offices in nine countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
In education, Huawei continues its programs through Huawei ICT Academy. Currently, 20 local universities host Huawei ICT Academies. In June 2026, two teams from Uzbekistan will participate in the global final of the ICT Competition 2025-2026 in Shenzhen, China.
The company actively supports the national program to train five million AI leaders. On the aileaders.uz platform, 24 Huawei courses are publicly available, including courses on AI, cloud technologies, and big data. Since April 2026, two AI courses are available in Uzbek.
Huawei has been operating in Uzbekistan for over 26 years, strengthening the country’s ICT infrastructure and introducing intelligent technologies and digital platforms to support digitalization and intellectualization across all sectors.
