Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. In Tashkent, the average nominal monthly salary has exceeded 11 million soums, while nationwide the figure stood at 6.8 million soums, marking an 18% increase in the first quarter of 2026.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the capital maintains an absolute lead in income levels with a growth of 18.8%. The top three highest-paid regions also include Navoi region (8.4 million soums) and Tashkent region (6.1 million soums). At the opposite end are Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions, where average salaries remain the lowest in the republic, not exceeding 4.7 million soums.
The highest growth rate was recorded in transportation and storage, where wages rose by 22.5% compared to the same period in 2025, reaching 10.7 million soums. In banking, insurance, leasing, credit, and financial intermediation, wages increased by 18.2% to over 18 million soums. In industry, wages grew by 16.1% to 8 million soums.
In education, the average salary was 4.6 million soums, while healthcare and social services averaged 4.1 million soums. Accommodation and food services saw an average of 5.3 million soums, and information and communication exceeded 16.5 million soums.
It is worth recalling that Uzbekistan plans a large-scale reform of the mental health care system. Psychiatrists, narcologists, medical psychologists, and suicidologists may see their salaries doubled, and the personnel training system will be completely overhauled.
