The Confederation of Employers of Uzbekistan has a new leader. An extraordinary general meeting of founders elected Davron Vakhabov, head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, as chairman.
The meeting also discussed improving the organization's work and introducing a system of territorial representations.
It was decided to expand the Confederation's activities in the regions: heads of territorial divisions of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will now serve as official representatives of the Confederation locally.
Participants noted that the reforms will strengthen dialogue with employers and protect business interests.
Previously, Davron Vakhabov stated that exports of cars from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan could reach 100,000 vehicles per year, creating a market worth about $500 million.
