International holding Mansour Automotive Group and Asaka Motors have announced the establishment of a joint venture, ASMAN AUTO. The partners plan to invest $120 million over the next five years.
The initial phase involves semi-knocked-down (SKD) assembly at the Asaka Motors plant, with a gradual transition to completely knocked-down (CKD) production. Sales and after-sales service will be handled by ASMAN AUTO.
Jagat Randhawa, head of international business at Mansour Automotive Group, stated: “Uzbekistan represents a promising automotive market with strong economic fundamentals. Through ASMAN AUTO, we aim to introduce global standards across the value chain.”
The product portfolio includes MG and Wuling brands. MG offers three models: the MG5 sedan, MG ZS compact crossover, and MG HS flagship crossover. Wuling introduces the Bardosh minivan and Afzal crossover. An electric Wuling Bingo S crossover will be added later.
Prices: Wuling Bardosh 1.2L MT – UZS 109.9 million, Wuling Afzal 1.5L AT – UZS 199.9 million; MG5 1.5L AT – UZS 199.9 million, MG ZS 1.5L AT – UZS 229.9 million, MG HS 1.5T AT – UZS 299.9 million. Flexible installment plans up to 18 months with zero interest are available.
Infrastructure development will be phased: initially, 10 dealerships will open in Tashkent, Namangan, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Andijan. Within two years, the network will expand to 25 locations nationwide.
For after-sales service, 6-8 service centers and spare parts distribution hubs will be established. Financing and insurance programs will be introduced in partnership with leading banks, leasing, and insurance companies.
Avazbek Jalilov, CEO of Asaka Motors, commented: “The partnership reflects our shared ambition to elevate Uzbekistan’s automotive industry, create jobs, and ensure sustainable industrial development.”
The joint venture is expected to create 2,000 direct and indirect jobs, develop local talent, strengthen supply chains, and modernize the automotive sector. The long-term goal is to position Uzbekistan as a regional automotive and logistics hub in Central Asia.
