The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced its support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino's re-election bid for a fourth term in 2027.
In a statement following a meeting ahead of the FIFA Congress in Vancouver, CAF said it had "unanimously agreed" to back Infantino when he stands for re-election as head of football's global governing body.
Infantino took over FIFA in 2016 amid a corruption scandal that forced his predecessor Sepp Blatter to step down. He was re-elected in 2019 and 2023.
Although FIFA statutes limit presidents to three terms, Infantino is eligible to run again in 2025 because his first partial term from 2016 to 2019 is not counted toward the limit.
CAF's decision follows a similar pledge from South America's CONMEBOL in April, signaling broad continental support for Infantino's continued leadership.
