The editorial team of Podrobno.uz news agency has released an electronic book titled 'Family Relics of War. Living History', compiled from family archives, photographs, letters, and memories of residents of Uzbekistan – front-line soldiers, home front workers, and individuals whose fates were tied to World War II.

From May to December 2025, Podrobno.uz ran a special project 'Family Relics of War', whose materials form the basis of this book. Through specific destinies and objects, the project demonstrates the cost of victory and preserves the living memory of people whose feats often remained only in family stories.

Many heroes of the publications rarely spoke about their experiences during their lifetimes, making the collected testimonies of particular historical and human value today. Uzbekistan made a significant contribution to the common victory: about two million residents of the republic fought at the fronts, and 302 people were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

The electronic book combines special project publications, archival photographs, and illustrations. This format will preserve the collected materials, make them accessible to a wide audience, and allow the publication to be used in schools, libraries, museums, and educational projects.

The book was published under the general editorship of Podrobno.uz editor-in-chief Andrey Teshaev. The lead editor and author of the texts was Venera Kayumova. Design and layout were done by Alexander Kim. For nearly eight months, the creative team collected unique materials from family archives of Uzbekistan residents. The electronic book also includes stories sent from neighboring countries.

'Family Relics of War. Living History' is a book about memory, gratitude, and the connection of generations. We invite readers to open it as a family archive of a great country – with names, faces, and objects that continue to speak about the war.
