In the Kosonsoy district of the Namangan region, a 28-year-old man fatally stabbed his 18-year-old fiancée, a high school graduate. According to Hayot Shamsutdinov, spokesman for the Prosecutor General's Office, a criminal case has been opened.
The incident occurred on May 6 at around 08:30. The man, identified as N.M., quarreled with his fiancée Q.I. over jealousy. He then stabbed her multiple times in the chest and abdomen with a knife and fled the scene.
The girl died in the hospital from her injuries. An investigative team arrived at the scene, conducted an inspection, collected evidence, and ordered relevant examinations.
In a video circulating online, a local police inspector stated that the quarrel erupted because the man did not like the dress the girl had made for her graduation party. The officer urged school administrations to increase vigilance when working with senior female students.
“Therefore, we, psychologists, female psychologists, will pay more attention to schools, 11th grades, and girls. Directors, mostly women. Work with girls, work now. Study their situation, ask their friends who they talk to, what they do. This is a serious matter. God forbid it happens to us tomorrow. Take control, leave me a comment. Tighten control,” the inspector said.
The Kosonsoy district prosecutor's office has charged the man under Part 1 of Article 97 (Premeditated Murder) of the Criminal Code, and he has been detained.
