A brutal murder occurred during a kurash wrestling competition in the Denau district of Surkhandarya region, Uzbekistan. Nizomiddin Chutboyev, a well-known local wrestler, was killed.
According to a source from Kun.uz, the incident took place on May 9 at 2:30 PM at the stadium of the medical college in Denau, where a mass national wrestling event was being held.
It was revealed that in one of the competition rounds, Chutboyev's son, Ayubkhan Khurramov, defeated his opponent Bustenbek Jabborov. Enraged by his younger brother's loss, Doston Jabborov approached Nizomiddin Chutboyev from behind and stabbed him multiple times.
Press secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office, Khayot Shamsutdinov, confirmed to Kun.uz that the severely wounded Chutboyev was rushed to the district medical association but died despite resuscitation efforts.
According to a preliminary forensic examination, the victim sustained four severe stab wounds.
On the same day, the Denau district prosecutor's office opened a criminal case against Doston Jabborov under Article 97, Part 2, Clause 'l' of the Criminal Code (Premeditated murder motivated by hooliganism). The suspect was detained under Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The district prosecutor's office is currently conducting preliminary investigations.
According to Kun.uz's source, Doston Jabborov had a prior criminal record and was known in the district for his aggressive behavior.
Earlier, on April 27, a man nicknamed 'Shakki' and his accomplices beat a young man to death on the street in Denau; four people were arrested in connection with that incident.
