In Uzbekistan's Namangan region, a major drug trafficking channel has been disrupted as part of the large-scale special operation 'Koradori-2026'. Security forces seized more than a kilogram of opium.
The incident occurred on May 8 during the first phase of the operational preventive measures. Officers from the State Security Service (SSS), together with regional internal affairs and customs departments, conducted a series of raids to identify drug dealers.
One of the key points of the operation was the 'Zarafshon' neighborhood in the Chust district. Based on operational information, law enforcement officers stopped a Spark car. During a search of the vehicle in the presence of witnesses, 1.2 kilograms of opium were found and seized as evidence.
A criminal case has been opened under two articles of the Criminal Code: Article 246 (Smuggling) and Article 273 (Illegal sale of narcotic drugs on a large scale). The suspects have been detained and placed in custody. Investigative actions are ongoing.
Recently, in the Andijan region, a trial against an organized criminal group involved in drug smuggling and sales concluded. Depending on their roles, the group members were sentenced to 8 to 11 years in prison.
