According to Podrobno.uz, Uzbekistan's imports surpassed $12 billion in the first quarter of 2026. Machinery and transport equipment dominate the structure, but fuel and food show the most notable growth.

The National Statistics Committee reports that imports of machinery and transport equipment reached $4.1 billion, up nearly 30% year-on-year.

Industrial goods and chemical products accounted for $1.7 billion and $1.5 billion, respectively. Food and live animal imports surged 45.9% to $1.4 billion.

Purchases of mineral fuel and lubricants jumped 64.4% to $1.2 billion. Service imports rose 17.9% to over $1.2 billion.

Strong growth was recorded in finished goods ($441.8 million, up 43.7%), raw materials ($288.9 million, up 28.7%), and oils and fats ($158.1 million, up 46.0%).

Beverage and tobacco imports reached $71.3 million, up 42.6%.

China remains Uzbekistan's top trading partner, accounting for over a third of all imports. Russia and Kazakhstan also contribute significantly.
