The JAC Motors Toshkent plant was officially inaugurated in the Yangi Avlod special industrial zone in Tashkent. During the ceremony, the assembly line for the first model produced in Uzbekistan, the JAC M3, was launched.

The enterprise is a joint venture between China's JAC Motors and JSC Toshkent invest kompaniyasi. The plant is designed to produce internal combustion engine vehicles, as well as hybrid and electric models.

The total project cost is $135 million, implemented in two phases on a 30-hectare site. The first phase involved $35 million in investments, launching an SKD plant with an annual capacity of up to 10,000 vehicles and creating 100 jobs.

The second phase will involve the construction of a full-cycle (CKD) facility, increasing annual production capacity to 30,000 vehicles and creating approximately 1,000 additional jobs.

Future plans include production of JAC M4, Sunray, JS8, RF8 models, as well as T8 and T9 pickup trucks.

The launch of the new production is expected to boost high-tech industry, increase competition in the automotive market, expand the supply of affordable cars, and enable exports.

The plant's opening in the Yangihayot district of the capital was first reported in March this year.
