On International Children's Day, June 1, the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan released data on the number of young citizens in the country.
According to official figures, as of early 2026, the number of children aged 0 to 14 reached 11,630,879. Among them, 6,030,736 are boys and 5,600,143 are girls.
Compared to the total population of 38 million, children make up approximately 30.6%. In other words, nearly one in three residents of Uzbekistan is a child.
The National Statistics Committee congratulated all young citizens on the holiday, wishing them health, happiness, and confidence in the future.
Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that Uzbekistan's population will grow from 38 to 50 million in the next 15 years, while the urbanization rate will rise from 51% to 65%. UNICEF predicts the population will reach 52 million by 2050.
