Officers from the Anti-Smuggling Department of the Fergana Regional Customs Administration, together with the regional State Security Service, conducted an operation that uncovered the unloading of medicines from a Gazel van at the home of a Fergana resident.
A subsequent search of the vehicle and the house revealed that more than 29,400 units of 38 types of medicines were stored in the house, while the van contained over 16,500 units of 25 types of medicines.
The operation uncovered gross violations of storage and transportation rules for nearly 46,000 units of medicines, lacking quality guarantees and proper documentation. The estimated value of the seized products is 1.247 billion soums.
