As of June 1, compressed natural gas (methane) prices at filling stations in Uzbekistan have risen to 5,700-5,800 soums per cubic meter, according to photos circulating on social media.
Previously, most stations charged around 5,250 soums per cubic meter, marking an increase of 8.5-10 percent.
The price hike follows a Cabinet of Ministers resolution setting the wholesale price of natural gas supplied to methane filling stations at 2,700 soums per cubic meter starting June 1.
